Inteligistics Bundles Cold Chain, Traceability and Pre-Cooling Tools into a Single Suite for Fresh Produce

Fresh produce technology provider Inteligistics has launched Inteligistics Enterprise, a suite that brings its full portfolio of cold chain visibility, traceability and quality management tools onto a single platform. The Salinas, California-based company announced the offering earlier this month.

The launch targets a familiar pain point for growers, packers and distributors: technology stacks assembled one point solution at a time, with temperature data, traceability records and facility monitoring sitting in separate systems.

Six modules, one data hub

The suite combines six components:

  • InteliView – a cloud data hub that aggregates operational data and, according to the company, supports FSMA 204 traceability reporting.
  • InteliCool – a patented pre-cooling optimisation tool designed to achieve uniform cooling of high-value produce, extend shelf life and raise throughput.
  • InteliTrack – pallet-level visibility and traceability across the enterprise.
  • InteliShip – real-time in-transit location and temperature tracking from cooler to distribution centre.
  • InteliMonitor – continuous temperature and humidity monitoring inside cold storage facilities.
  • InteliDock – analytics on dock performance aimed at cutting wait times, energy use and labour costs.

Subscription pricing as a selling point

Inteligistics is offering the bundle under a single annual subscription without per-user, per-report or additional licensing fees. Chief executive Gary Fleming said the industry has been held back by fragmented technology that creates blind spots and makes costs difficult to manage, and positioned the suite as a way to turn cold chain data into measurable improvements in quality and throughput.

The company says the suite is available now and can be configured for anything from a single-site packer to a multinational grower-shipper, with deployments tailored to each customer’s facilities.

Predictable pricing is likely to resonate with mid-sized produce businesses, where per-seat software costs can discourage broad deployment across field, packing and logistics teams.

Integration and traceability

The company stresses interoperability with third-party ERP and warehouse management systems, allowing sensor and IoT data to inform inventory, logistics and sales decisions elsewhere in the business. Lawrence Mallia, vice president of AI strategy and product solutions, said the platform is designed to capture traceability data from the moment of harvest.

Fleming linked the launch to recent Cyclospora-related recalls, arguing that carton-level traceability enables narrowly targeted withdrawals instead of broad market recalls that damage confidence in an entire commodity.

Why it matters

The FDA’s Food Traceability Rule under FSMA Section 204 requires companies handling foods on the Food Traceability List, which includes many fresh produce items, to maintain key data elements for critical tracking events. While the agency moved the compliance date to July 2028, retailers and foodservice buyers are already asking suppliers to demonstrate capability.

For buyers evaluating platforms of this kind, practical questions remain. These include how harvest-level data is captured in the field, how sensor costs scale across large pallet volumes, and how readily records can be exported in the formats regulators and customers request.

Outlook

Consolidation of cold chain and traceability tools into unified platforms is becoming a clear trend in fresh produce technology. Vendors that can show a measurable return through reduced shrink, better pre-cooling and faster recall response, rather than compliance alone, are likely to win budget as the 2028 deadline approaches.
